European 112 Day 08. February sekretar
11 February is celebrated as 112 Day in Estonia and elsewhere in the European Union. The aim of celebrating this day is to increase awareness of the common emergency phone number 112 used in Europe, which allows for calling for an ambulance, police and rescue workers. In 2019, the 112 Day will be celebrated for the tenth time.
To celebrate the 112 Day, the Estonian Emergency Response Centre has traditionally organised a conference and a campaign in kindergartens called “From Snow / to Snow 112”.
In the framework of “From Snow / to Snow”, all kindergartens, schools, hobby rings and families are invited to craft the number 112 out of snow or onto the snow. If there has not been a snowfall, participants are encouraged to find other creative options and use different materials; best crafters are awarded.
