The revival of old traditional games and folk dances 03. October sekretar

Thirteen youngsters from our school together with their peers from Sillamäe Vanalinna Shool took part in project where they revived old traditional games and folk dances from Virumaa region. The students played old games once played by their mothers and grandmothers. The best activity, according to the excitement level, was hopscotch. This game was also played in the English as well as in the Russian version. The kids also enjoyed doing button whirligigs. It was especially gratifying when the whirligig started spinning on its own and when it span longer than the whirligigs of others. From the team work activities the students enjoyed building marshmallow and spaghetti towers the most. They also visited Sillamäe Vanalinna School where we taught year three students the games and dances we had just learned in the project camp. It was a great project and a fun camp!
