Science camp Rakett69 02. November sekretar
During the autumn school holiday, 26 students took part in a unique science camp created by AHHAA Science Centre and Rakett69 Teadusstuudiod. The aim of the camp was to popularize science among school students, give students an opportunity to figure out different things on their own, make something with their hands, and put the theories learned in school to practise. The camp was also an opportunity to fill in possible knowledge gaps created by the pandemic.
We had two camps in our school- one for younger and one for older students. The camp lasted for three days and each day was like a tv-show where students competed in teams. They had to build various contraptions and devices, towers and bridges, but also deal with electricity and the concept of time. Students learned a lot by working in teams, and discovering effective and ineffective ways of doing things. What is more, they could experience failure as well as exhilarating feeling of victory. All in all, those were busy three days filled with science and discovery, social and academic development.
Big thank you to all the participating students, you are great!
