On 11 February there was a training day for practising water safety. Students learned and practised how to save themselves from a hole in ice using ice awls; how to save others from drowning by throwing them a lifebuoy; and how to transport the “victims”.
Big thanks to the workers of the prevention bureau of Eastern Rescue Centre and to the members of Mäetaguse Volunteers’ Rescue Brigade for a great event.
This year’s music week was busy and fun. During the breaks there was music, in accordance with the days’ themes. It is great that there are many students and teachers who actively participated in the different activities of our Music Week! I hope that everyone found some nice moments together with music.
Meeting Kärolin Kruut [on Monday], an alumna of our school, definitely gave students some ideas on how to make music part of their life style. And of course, our school’s first Air Band got a big round of applause.
This year we already started our English Week preparations during the first weeks of school after New Year. The wider aim was to learn English through songs and singing. Each class learnt one song in English. In addition to learning a song, the words, meaning, and other information about it was introduced to the students.
