Music week 04. April sekretar
Music week featured several activities at our school.
In music lessons, we played Music Trivia, where all participants could review what they had learned and discover new knowledge! All players received fun music stickers of their choice.
On Tuesday, we had a visit from Estonia's top cellist, Silvia Ilves, along with her sons Stefan and Tristan. Together, they gave a fantastic concert, performing songs ranging from pop to classical music. Stefan and Tristan study music at MUBA: Tristan plays the cello and Stefan the piano. The boys' highly skilled playing has earned them numerous titles and recognitions, and they have performed together in Estonia and abroad.
On Wednesday, we had the opportunity to enjoy a lively concert by the Iisaku School of Arts. It was delightful to see and hear students and teachers playing a variety of instruments: mandolin, ukulele, guitars, xylophone, small harp, accordion, percussion, violin, and piano. They also showcased the oldest instrument - the voice. The dances performed by the dance class were interesting and vividly presented. It was a pleasure to see our school students Martha, Rosie, Adanna, and Arvi on stage as well.
On Thursday, for the first time in our school, we held a Eurovision event. Participants randomly selected a country's song and performed it imitating a real band. Each class also made a presentation introducing their chosen country, either through a video clip or a short talk.
ALL performers did GREAT! However, as is tradition in Eurovision, the audience chose one winner: 9th grade and Estonia! The audience voted 8th grade and Italy into 2nd place, and 5th grade and Finland into 3rd place.
We thank all the classes that performed at Eurovision, as well as their assisting teachers and parents! Special thanks to the teachers who portrayed the band Queen and the supportive audience!
