Years 3 and 4 visited Palamuse Museum on October 14. The students took a part in an old time school lesson. The classroom had desks that seated four students. On the desks there were ink pots and quills. Students could try out how it is to write with a quill pen. They learned about the old time lessons (e.g. bible study, calligraphy) and saw some very rare objects from the past.
The first students to walk on our new slackline will be awarded!

October is the reading month and National Book Month. Mäetaguse Basic School invites its students to bring a book to the school library and exchange it for another book brought to school by someone else.
There is also a reading challenge! Fill in a paper (shaped like a small railcar) with details of the book you read, write a short introduction of the book, and put it on the book wall.
There will be a traditional school concert titled “Everything is possible”. Jaagup Tuisk (vocals, guitar, piano) is a young singer-songwriter who wishes to motivate other young people by asserting that everything is possible if you want to achieve something and you work hard for it. Together with Kristjan Sootalu (guitar) they are going to perform well known songs in the school auditorium.
Every morning light exercise in the sports hall. Walking or running round the school house during long breaks. In case of rain dance breaks in the auditorium instead. Younger students have introductory boxing and Taekwondo lessons. On Friday awarding the best walkers and runners.
Year 9 students take part in a national integration and civic education programme “My country”.
