The journey of the Alutaguse children's choir to the song party began with the idea of creating a children's choir of their own municipality. A united will is a powerful energy! There was a lot of practice and effort, but also joy at the progress! It is a very proud feeling to say that the Alutaguse children's choir also sang among the 25,000 singers!
The Rocket69 educational camp was once again held at Mäetagus Primary School.
For the second year in a row, the Rocket69 science camp was held at Mäetagus Elementary School. On the first days of the summer vacation (June 14-16, 2023), the school was filled with curious and happy students who came to have an experience similar to the " Rocket69" TV- show. Camp days started with a team warm-up, followed by two tasks and a final duel, and ended with analysis and summaries of the day.
On 8.06.23, 2nd and 3rd grade students visited the Apollo cinema. After an adventurous drive by the country bus and orientation, we reached Jõhvi. Having made the choice of drink and food, we started watching the movie "Lapsmasin" ("Child machine"), which offered a lot of food for thought. There were many and different opinions! After sitting for a long time, we took an activity break - yet had to run to the bus! It was agreed that we will make such a joint visit to the cinema in the future!
Teachers Tiina and Gerli.
It was a special day!
On 02.06, the 2nd and 3rd grade students took a scooter trip to Atsalama with their teachers. The weather was very favorable. At the destination, a parent was waiting for us, who introduced the farmer's job and tools. The children had a lot of exploring and playing around. On the spot, we recalled the different summer and winter crops growing in the field and talked about fertilization and its necessity.
At the end of the nice visit, every child could sweeten their mouths and head home - even with rain and hail!
On June 2, 42 students of the grades 4 to 6 of Mäetaguse Primary School had a meaningful and eventful day at the Sagadi Nature School. Learning through experience became a reality thanks to the KIK project written by the school events manager Katrin Saks. Science teacher Monica Merents-Irs made a selection from the programs offered at the school of nature.
Learning about forest communities and possibilities for use took place in two groups under the skillful teaching of Sagadi Nature School instructors Tiina Reintal and Peeter Hussar with humorous examples from real life.
The 4th-6th grade students of our school went to the Ugala theater in Viljandi. Watched the youth crime story "Sweet Bottom of the Pie".
