On the morning of Wednesday, April 19, the 5th grade students of Mäetagus Basic School were excited and anxious, because a new experience in the history of their class awaited them. Jõhvi's study trip was taken by bus, and the plan was to visit the central library and learn about the history of St. Michael's Church.

On 6 April 2023, the Ida-Virumaa preliminary round of the Liiv Brothers competition was held at the Toila Gymnasium.
Our school was represented by Karolin Nano, who won 3rd place, and Karol Raidma, who received a special award.

On April 4, the 4th graders visited the Pagari library. We learned how International Children's Book Day is related to H. C. Andersen. We played puzzle dominoes and listened to a story about the alphabet. Reading is power!

On 30.03.23, the county "Nuputa" (Click) competition was held at Jõhvi Primary School. Our school was represented by Hanna Marleen Aamer, Liam Andrew Roy, Andri Pae and Eduard Petrov.
Our students took first place in the younger age group.

On 28.03.23, mathematics olympiad for the 1st-3rd grades pupils of Ida-Virumaa Estonian and language immersion schools took place at Maleva Primary School in Kohtla Järve.
Our school was represented by a team consisting of Sofi Sarajeva, Antti Pae and Maksim Mironov.

On February 14, 2023, the regional round of the Geography Olympiad took place in the Harno Moodle environment.
Our school was represented by 8th grade students Romet Linder, who took IV place, Gleb Dosaev, who took V place. Sandra Sidorov also got a good result.
The 9th grade was represented by Helena Mirtel Aamer, who took VI place, Karol Raidma, Karolin Nano and Karl Nõmmemees got a good result.

On the 17th of March, the contest from Hansen and Tammsaare in Ida-Virumaa took place at Narva College.
Mart Kundla, a 6th grade student from our school won the 1st place in the younger age group.

17.03.23 On the Ski Day of Primary Schools held in Pannjärvi, Egert Hütt finished 8th-9th in the 10 km race. 1st place in the category of boys amateurs. Amazing!
The 5th grade of Mäetagus Primary School participates in the Kuusakoski environmental campaign "Candle Holders Hunt", within the framework of which young people from all over Estonia are invited to collect as many empty aluminum tea candle cases as possible.
