The treasures of Ida-Virumaa

On January 20, 7th-8th grade students took part in the project "Treasures of Eastern Virumaa" organized by Kohtla-Järve Maleva and Ahtme basic schools. During the conference, students were able to get to know the most famous historical and cultural events and places of the county. Students could also practice their group work skills.

It was a very exciting day!

Erasmus+

In the period 23.-27.01.23, our school will have guests from Romania, the Netherlands, Spain, Germany and Turkey in connection with the international Erasmus+ project "No waste but haste for a good fate."

Secret Language

On December 7, 2022, the competition "Secret Language" 2022 organised by the University of Tartu School of Science took place in the online environment. The overarching theme was spelling rules through time. The competition was intended for 6-9 graders.

In the younger age group (grades 6 to 7), our student Mart Kundla from the 6th grade took first place.

Our school's 9th grade student Karol Raidma got a good result in the older age group (grades 8 to 9).

December 21

December 21 will be the last school day this year before the long-awaited school break. A special program is planned for the day, including a concert and fun outdoor activities.

Christmas fair

On the first Advent, which fell on November 27, our school organized a Christmas fair where children sold homemade goods. The festive mood was accompanied by music, a DIY workshop and a charity raffle.

World improvers

On 17.11.22, our school's team, consisting of Kati Sarapuu, Sandra Sidorov, Andre Tihane, Egert Hütt and Andra Mäeots, took part in the county project "World Changers" at Maleva Primary School, where they presented their ideas.

The goal of the project was to develop entrepreneurship among the youngsters in the county.

Nordic days at school

A week before the autumn break, Nordic days were held at our school and focused mainly on Sweden. The well-known children's writer Astrid Lindgren is from Sweden. One of the children's favorite books is "Master Detective Blomkvist". The 5th grade students, together with their class teacher Katrin Kerd, prepared and read a chapter from this book to the younger students in the school assembly hall and then asked questions based on it.
